Mohale golf day

As many of you reading this may know, eta Online is proud to partner with Active Communities Network South Africa (ACN SA) to deliver programmes which empower young people to build strong communities and brighter futures. On 3 November 2017 the inaugural Mohale Golf Day will take place at Pretoria Golf Club, and this event is symbolic of the great impact ACN projects can have.

Tetelo Seseni was a participant on the first Momentum funded Coaching and Administration Skills program at Zwartkop Golf Club in 2016. Upon completion of this course, he used the knowledge, practical aptitude and confidence he had gained to found his own academy, the Mohale Golf Agency, at Pretoria Gold Club.

This academy is thriving, and he has many young people wishing to be involved.
Commenting on being given this opportunity, Tetelo said, “I would love to thank all the sponsors and organisations involved in making this opportunity possible. It is because of you that this potential has been unlocked.”

His success in establishing a career in the industry has spurred further interest for participants aspiring to attend the Momentum funded Coaching and Administration Skills Programme. The benefits of being a part of this skills programme are numerous; social interaction, motor skills, concentration and commitment, and of course the health benefits of being active as well as the accredited skills training. The purpose of this course is to develop skills and employability of participants and continue to grow the game of golf in communities.

The Mohale Golf Day, organised by students and graduates of the Momentum funded skills programme, will run from 10h00 – 20h00 and include a golf day (or thirty second board game version for non-players!), three-course meal and prize giving. The entry cost for one four ball team is R2 000, and a Golf Clinic of one to one coaching is also available for R300 per person. These sessions can be arranged around your round. This event will raise money for equipment, transport, membership costs and academy resources for Tetelo’s Mohale Golf Agency.

eta Online is committed to making a social difference, and our work with ACN to provide accredited and non-accredited educational programmes for people from disadvantaged communities to employment prospects is an important outlet. Each year these projects help many young people gain the skills, certifications and self-belief to change their lives for the better. Tetelo’s move from participant to programme leader (and the founder of his very own agency!) provides evidence for the worth of this partnership, and hope for future success stories.
