Sport Massage

Sport Massage is a short course intended for continued professional development (CPD) for qualified fitness and coaching science professionals or for candidates wishing to learn more about massage for their own personal interest (no NQF or credits awarded). The course is recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals South Africa (REPSSA). REPSSA is part of ICREPS, an International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals which operates world-wide, allowing members to work anywhere in the world. On successful completion, you will understand the principles and theory of sport massage and be able to implement a range of sport massage techniques.

Sport Massage is a short course recognised and endorsed with 18 CPD points by the Register of Exercise Professionals South Africa (REPSSA). REPSSA is part of ICREPS, an International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals which operates world-wide, allowing members to work anywhere in the world.

Continued professional development (CPD) points are awarded to qualified fitness and coaching science professional. Candidates wishing to learn more about massage for their own personal interest (non-credit bearing) will not be endorsed with any CPD points as they are not required to be registered on REPSSA.

On successful completion of this course, you will understand the principles and theory of sport massage and be able to implement a range of sport massage techniques.

On completion of this course, you will be able to:
• Understand the history of massage
• Understand the principles and benefits of sport massage
• Demonstrate knowledge of injuries and injury management
• Plan and prepare for sport massage
• Implement safe and effective sport massage, using appropriate methods and techniques
