THIS COMMUNICATION DOES NOT APPLY TO DISTANCE STUDENTS, IT ONLY APPLIES TO FULL TIME STUDENTS WHO ARE REGISTERED TO A CAMPUS
Dear Students and Staff,
Communication 14: Managing COVID – 19 Semester 1 Including ALT and Induction
We welcome the announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa on the relaxation of the Alert Level 3 Restrictions. With the relaxation of the Alert Level 3 Restrictions, it remains all our responsibility to continue adhering to the health protocols required to stop the spread of Covid-19, especially in the workplace. eta College has in place all the necessary procedures and protocols to comply with lockdown level 3 restrictions.
eta College will open their doors as planned on the 8th February 2021. We will open in a planned, coordinated and phased manner. Each Campus will notify their students on how they can return to Campus safely to ensure the safety of all staff and students. Students access to Campus remains limited and will be strictly governed by timetables.
If you have not heard from your Campus please contact them for any timetable adjustments, new timetables and for the dates and times of ALT and Induction. Some sessions will take place on campus while others will be completed online.
In light of the lowering of restrictions, we are still required to adhere to the following:
1. A face mask must be worn at all times as this is now mandatory.
2. Social distancing of 2 meters.
3. The Higher Health APP must be completed before entering campus and an outcome of low will allow you to enter.
- Save the number 0600110000 on your mobile phone.
- On WhatsApp, send the word “Hi” and it will prompt you to “Check, Symptoms and Testing” to this number.
- Type CHECK and follow the prompts on the message to complete your COVID-19 daily risk assessment.
- Based on your answers, you will receive a message showing if you are low risk, moderate risk, or high risk
- If you are low risk, you will receive a “Health Check Clearance Granted” receipt so that you can enter the campus.
- If you are moderate or high risk, you will receive a “Health Check Clearance Denied” receipt and this means you should not travel to campus and you will be instructed on whether you should self-isolate or go for a COVID-19 test.
- Use Health Check every day before coming to campus.
4. Hand sanitizer or regular washing of hands.
We look forward to welcoming all students and staff members to their Campuses, and to help keep each other safe and healthy.
