Q: What is your title at eta College?
A: Regional Manager at eta Bloemfontein Campus
Q: What is your role at eta College?
A: In a nutshell, to ensure that all students have an amazing experience at eta college Bloemfontein. We strive to give our students the BEST industry experience possible and prepare them to enter any workplace in their field. This takes a lot of relationship building with various stakeholders in the industry and where I feel my strengths lie.
Q: How long have you been involved with eta College?
A: 6 Years, I started my involvement with eta college firstly as a student at eta college Pretoria. Once completing my qualification, I was offered a position to lecturer in the Coaching Science faculty. A few years later I was promoted to Academic Manager and shortly after that I found myself in Bloemfontein managing the campus here, and as the old cliché goes…the rest is history!
Q: What led you to working in the Fitness industry?
A: My inspiration to be in the industry was actually my passion for Sport, Sport Development and Coaching the youth.
Q: What would you say has been your greatest accomplishment at eta?
A: If I had to choose 1 accomplishment that I am most proud of being part of eta, it would be seeing students and graduates making a great success of their lives using the tools and knowledge they obtained from being at eta knowing that you made it possible. It is something I can never get used to and each time I here of graduates “making it big” in the industry I feel a sense of great accomplishment. Obviously, none of this would be possible without an amazing team and industry expert staff we have at eta Bloemfontein.
Q: What has eta Bloem learnt this year?
A: We are constantly learning but one of the biggest lessons I feel we learnt was, “never be afraid of change”. We are always innovating with new structures, relationships, new venues and new student experiences.
Q: Who is your greatest role model?
A: Personally I do not have one “great” role model. I believe that anyone who possesses characteristics that align to my core values and beliefs is someone I can admire, respect and learn from.
Q: What’s your favourite qualification at eta?
A: I don’t have a favourite qualification to be honest.
Q: Why?
A: I feel that a student that studies any one of our qualifications gets a first class seat with first class treatment and as long as the student puts in the hard yards, they are going to love what they do because our courses are amazing.
Q: Where do you hope to see eta Bloem in 5 years?
A: I am a firm believer that eta Bloem will be the campus that has the highest pass rates, highest employment rates for graduates and the campus that students come to from all over the country to achieve the best study experience possible.
