Many matrics are faced with the difficult choice of deciding what career they will enter for the rest of their lives. This choice may be further complicated by matriculants being passionate about sport but no knowing what to study after matric. eta offers on-campus and online sports study programmes that encompass a range of qualifications including Higher and Advanced Certificates, Diplomas, and Bachelor degrees.
eta for Sport and Fitness Qualifications
eta is a private higher education and training academy specialising in recognised sport and fitness qualifications that lead to employment. Our qualifications are registered on the Higher Education Qualifications Framework and the Occupational Qualifications Sub Framework.
Depending on the qualification you choose, our certificate programmes will take you one year to complete. Our diploma programmes will take between two to three years, and our sports degrees will take a full three years.
We are proud of our programmes which are rated among the best in international standards in sport and fitness. This means that our graduates are well-equipped to find employment in South Africa and internationally.
On-Campus or Online Studies?
At eta, we offer various sports studies to address your specific career needs. We provide two methods of programme delivery which are equally rewarding but very different. Your choice will depend on what you want to study and how much time you have available for your studies.
Our on-campus sports qualifications encompass face-to-face learning where you are afforded a traditional student experience. This is where you will attend daily classes at your preferred campus and have your lectures at specific times, on specific days, and with on-site practical activities. This form of study is popular with students who have just finished school and prefer to interact with fellow students and in a campus environment.
eta’s online sports qualification programmes are available up to NQF Level 6 and allow you to complete your studies at your own pace and time. Our online sports courses provide an equally stimulating but very different learning environment. Students who prefer this method of study are generally a little older and enjoy studying in their own environment. Although this is an entirely online learning experience, our students still have contact with a tutor and fellow students via our online community.
Sports Colleges in South Africa
We have several campuses across the major cities in South Africa, some international campuses and professional golfing campuses in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Mauritius.
If you are uncertain about what to study, we have a short online quiz that will help you establish which programme is best suited to your interests and objectives.
Further information about campus fees can be found on our Fees page, or you may contact us directly.
